The Connecticut Antique Machinery Association

Annual Fall Festival—Kent, CT

September 23-24-25, 2016

Yes, Connecticut. Not exactly an afternoon jaunt, but absolutely worth checking out if you’re anywhere near it. They have an operational 3 foot gauge railroad with restored, and in-process, retired locomotives and cars. While building this collection, they picked up steam and combustion engines, sawmill, blacksmith, mining, and other trades’ ironwork… all on display on their 8 acre museum lot. Volunteers answer questions, tinker on engines and repair pieces. It’s an incredible place to see, and worth the side trip, if not a dedicated expedition. Plan to spend hours!

And that’s just a regular day. The annual spring and fall festivals bring collectors and swappers, vendors and visitors, kids and competitors. The festivals mark the opening and closing of the museum, in May and October.
